Compliance conducts virtual training to Demystify the Confidential Channel

With about 4,000 views the live aimed to give greater transparency to the procedures of the Confidential Channel and strengthen its credibility with employees

At MRV we are driven to build a transformative future by doing it the right way day after day. Therefore, since 2012 we have an important tool to strengthen our culture of integrity, the Confidential Channel in which both employees and third parties report, responsibly and honestly, situations of improper conduct that violate the rules of our Code of Conduct as the laws in force.

In order to give greater transparency about the scope of operation of the Confidential Channel, demonstrate the evolution of the number of complaints, treatment flow of the report and the consequences applied in the case of confirmation of the reports was held a live on 08/02/2022 by the Executive Manager of GRC and Privacy Alex Medeiros with the participation of the specialist in the subject, Jefferson Kiyohara, Director of Compliance and Sustainability at ICTS Protiviti.

Throughout the presentation was demonstrated the importance of this tool to combat fraud, cases of harassment, labor violations, fight corruption, among others, and thus ensure that ethical deviations from behavior are identified before they become a major problem and can be properly answered, either through disciplinary, administrative and/ or remediation measures.

The reports are received by a specialized and independent company, and analyzed by the area of Risks and Internal Audit MRV&CO. It was demonstrated the full protection that is given to the whistleblower, because his identity is kept confidential, and if he does not want to identify himself, anonymity is guaranteed.

About 4 thousand employees viewed the live, and made several interactions as "Transparent communication is essential to avoid situations that harm both the Company and the employee. and "Very good scope to know what really should be taken to the confidential channel." that demonstrate that the goal of increasing the credibility and trust of the Confidential Channel has been achieved. And to reinforce this knowledge an institutional video of Canal Confidencial was developed and is disseminated in all corporate TVs of the Company’s offices and works.
